What are stages of hiv
Answer:
The first stage is the Acute primary infection, during this stage an infected person will experience flu symptoms. The second stage is the asymptomatic stage(clinical latency stage),the virus may not show any other symptoms for many years and this could last for a period of 10 years. The third stage is the symptomatic HIV infection. During this stage an infected person will contract diseases like pneumonia, diarrhoea, tuberculosis etc which are called opportunistic diseases because they take the opportunity to attack the human body when the immune system is weak. Now an infected person is said to have AIDS and this could be fatal if an infected person is not taking medications because opportunistic diseases destroy the body.
The three stages of HIV infection are (1) acute HIV infection,(2) chronic HIV infection, and (3) acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). HIV can be transmitted (spread to others) during any stage of infection, but the risk is greatest during acute HIV infection.
