What event in English history came to be known as the Glorious Revolution?
Answer:
Also called the Revolution of 1688, The Glorious Revolution happened with the overthrowing of King James II of England (James VII of Scotland and James II of Ireland). A union of English Parliamentarians overthrew him with the help of Dutch stadtholder William III of Orange-Nassau (William of Orange). England’s invasion by William was successfully completed with a Dutch army and fleet. This led him to his ascension to the English throne as William III of England along with Mary II of England, his wife. This is aggregated with the 1689 Bill of Rights document.
